David Jeffrey is an English teacher at the Centre for English Language Education of Asia University in Tokyo, Japan. Teacher diaries have wide-ranging applications for professional development, as they give teachers an increased sense of responsibility and the confidence to seek new ways of improving their teaching.


Abstract

In this article, David Jeffrey shares his personal experience of undertaking a teacher diary study that led to an awareness of the need to promote and internalise the ownership of international English among his students.
