Neil Heffernan is an Associate Professor in the English Education Center at Ehime University. He has lived and worked in Japan since 1995, and his main areas of interest are Testing/Evaluation, Sociolinguistics and Computer Assisted Language Learning.

He has had his work published widely and in numerous international journals in the field, and is also the author of numerous textbooks for Japanese learners of English. Ehime University:
