Kota Ohata completed his Ph.D. in Composition & TESOL at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in 2004. His research interests center around the roles of affect in second language learning, especially in relation to the cross-cultural issues involved in the processes, such as the learner’s experiences of inner conflicts or dilemmas between L1 and L2 self-identity. Currently he teaches in the English Language Program (ELP) at International Christian University, Tokyo, Japan.
