John Adamson received his Doctorate of Education from Leicester University specialising in the area of inter-cultural interview communication with Thai learners. He teaches sociolinguistics, study skills and discourse analysis at college level, as well as Business English at company level in Japan.

His publications focus on interview discourse, learning strategies, Teacher Development, and Business English methodology. He is active in his local area of Japan running a teacher research group and organizing workshops.
