ESP in Asia Call for papers | Call for Papers open till April 17th

The First Asian ESP Journal ESP (English for Specific Purposes) in Asia will be held Pusan, South Korea, from May 22-24th, 2009.

The aim of this conference is to bring together ESP practitioners across Asia to exchange views on a wide range of issues in ESP practice and research. Through this exchange, it is hoped that participants will gain better insights into the world of ESP and the challenges it faces. Pusan national University with its long history and educational excellence and the Asian ESP Journal are proud to create this forum for this special event.

Keynote speakers will include:- Vijay Bhatia, (Hong Kong) and Dr. John Adamson, (Japan).

Proposals (up to 250 words) for 30 minute presentations should be related to research into ESP and the teaching of ESP in Asian contexts or with Asian students. Papers in the following areas are invited:

· Research in Business English, English for Legal Purposes, Technical English
and other ESP areas.
· Practical studies into the teaching methodologies employed in ESP.
· Innovations in ESP Course design, material production and evaluation.
· Inter-cultural Business communication.
· Bilingual teaching for tertiary level or adult education in China and other Asian
countries.
· ESP teacher development.
· Studies on ESP corpus.
· Studies related to international research journal publication.
· Content-based instruction (e.g. English-medium lecturing in Asian
universities/schools ).


Abstracts in English should be sent to asianespjournal@gmail.com
by April 17th and should include the following information:
1. Author’s full name and title.
2. Author’s affiliation and address.
3. E-mail contact address.
4. Title of the paper
5. Abstract (up to 250 words)

Notification of acceptance will be given by April 13th 2009
Registration and details concerning transport and accommodation will be announced on the Asian ESP Journal site

A Conference Proceedings edition will be published in 2009 and for this purpose full papers should be submitted by October 2009 to asianespjournal@gmail.com

Conference participation:
International speakers: $100.00 (US dollars)

Accommodation in 3-5 Star Hotels can be arranged. ($50-140 per night)
