Model United Nations: Planning, Preparing and Expanding  

Abstract:

The idea of preparing for a Model United Nations (MUN) conference can be a daunting experience for both students and teachers of EFL. This presentation will attempt to put your fears at rest by providing an explanation of materials and activities that can be used to prepare EFL students for an MUN event.  Video footage of an MUN event will be shown and copies of classroom activities to prepare students will be made available.  The presenter will also introduce a unique version of MUN called Action Plan MUN, which can empower students to go beyond the conference and follow up on their ideas.
