Title
ELT and Literature: Not a bad combination

Abstract

People in the English profession know that ELT and literature are two separate entities. If there is a continuum, ELT is at one end, while literature is at the other. However, this does not mean that they cannot meet halfway and we cannot combine these separate entities in class. At first, teachers who do not study literature at university may get scared to use literature in their class, but it is not as hard and scary as they expect it to be.  At this workshop, several practical activities will be provided for the teachers who are willing to use literature in their classes. These activities are the sort which promotes extensive and intensive reading, cooperation and creativity. In the end, both the teachers and students will see that it is fun and useful to have such activities in class.
