A joyful Grammar Class With Content-Based Language
Abstract
A second language can be learned through the study of another discipline and the content of that discipline in turn through the medium of a second language. Content-based instruction implies the total integration of language learning and content learning. It has been used in a variety of language learning contexts for the last twenty-five years. In a content-based approach, language class activities are specific to the subject matter being taught and they stimulate students to learn through the use of the target language.
Content-based approach has been implemented in the field of foreign language teaching to teach many aspects of language including grammar teaching. This paper aims to study the features of content-based language in detail and to present a model to teach grammar in content. The researcher will review the relevant literature and will suggest a lesson model including several types of activities to teach some specific grammar in a piece of content.
