Teaching ESL in International Schools

Abstract
By default, all teachers working in intentional schools where English is the medium of instruction are ESL or EFL teachers. This talk will describe the challenges of teaching English to students who come from over 20 different nationalities.

Teacher training becomes very important aseach students comes from a very different cultural background which must be taken into account in the teaching.

CIS has over 500 international students who are taught in English. Students from Korea, Japan, China must learn alongside students whose mother tongue is English. This talk will describe the learning patterns and progress of these students
